Created by the women that brought the world the award-winning children’s iPad magazine, Timbuktu Magazine, Rebel Girls was conceived after Elena and Francesca worked to launch 12 mobile apps, published six paper books and built a toolkit that allows underserved communities to design and build playable spaces in collaboration with the NFL, Kaboom, Zynga.org and the YMCA and discovered the importance of having female role models. After a bit of research, Elena and Francesca realized that 95% of the books and TV shows they grew up with lacked girls in prominent positions so they decided to do something about it and published, “Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls.”
