Opposite of Far creator, Jessica Near, has always had a strong imagination and advocacy for the importance of play. With a degree in Early Childhood Development/Education & Sociology she was a preschool teacher and nanny until back surgery prevented her for working and allowed her to start Opposite of Far. Her love of kids and animals, coupled with an understanding of the need for adults to play with and foster imaginative play, she created her line of masks to delight the numerous children in her life. Every single item is designed, sewn, finished and packaged by Jessica and her small shop in central Indiana, using premium Merino wool blend felt & eco-fi, which is a high-quality polyester fiber made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles. The love for what she does and pride in what she’s built shows in each whimsical mask Jessica creates!
