The Game Changing Plastic-Free Body Moisturizing Bar
If you’re looking for a non-toxic, hypoallergenic, cruelty free and eco-friendly body lotion that comes in zero-waste packaging, you’ve come to the right place.
With a belief that whatever you put on your body, you may as well be putting in your mouth, Kate McLeod used her sister-in-law’s love of raw cocoa butter and her own background as a pastry chef to whip up a natural ingredient moisturizing bar that she first marketed as ‘skin food’ to her friends. Consisting of cocoa butter, sweet almond, apricot kernel, avocado, and fractionated coconut, Kate McLeod Stones are where self-made products meet self-care.
Intended to moisturize, heal and soothe, these simple, yet innovate moisturizing bars are also a way to massage, meditate and honor your body. Designed in the shape of a smooth stone, they melt on contact with dry skin and come wrapped in 100% organic linen. Passionate about manufacturing products ethically and sustainably, each batch is hand poured by Kate in the company’s Butter Atelier in DUMBO, Brooklyn and packaged in sustainably farmed and re-usable bamboo canisters.
With four options to choose from including their Mama Stone, Daily Stone, Naked Stone and Sleep Stone, they make fantastic baby shower, birthday and just because gifts. Two blends – the Mama and Naked stones – don’t contain any essential oils, so these are better options for women who are pregnant or those sensitive to essential oils.
The other two blends – the Daily and Sleep stones – contain pure essential oils like rose, frankincense, neroli, lavender, chamomile, which provide a relaxing aromatic experience. One of the things we love most about the brand is how much they support promoting the power of touch for self-care and self-love. Their stones are can be used for anxiety relief, pain management and even encouraging self breast self-exams.

The other thing we love is that they’re all MADE SAFE™ Certified.
This means Kate McLeod Stones have been rigorously tested to be free of known behavioral toxins, carcinogens, developmental toxins, reproductive toxins, toxic solvents, or harmful VOCs. Unlike other certifying bodies, MADE SAFE™ tests how an ingredient could build up in the environment and its effects on on the eco-system and both aquatic and farm toxicity.
As parents who are incredibly conscious about the harmful chemicals lurking in everything from toys to strollers to moisturizers, we always ensure that each product we sell passes The Tot Test and Kate McLeod Body Stones definitely pass with flying colors!
