As the weather starts to warm up, so does my heart. In our family, spring means more outdoor playtime, long and cruisy afternoon walks, as well as a chance to break out the lightweight sweaters for evening dinners in the garden. This season, our favorite brands are telling us that earth tones and earth-friendly are still at the core of their design ethos and the result is wonderful.
poème & poésie, a new addition to The Tot, is comprised of timeless and contemporary sets for both boys and girls that are seriously worthy of the royal family. Number 1 on my wish list: The Poeme + Poesie Dot Shirt Overall Set. Perfect for a play date, waterside lunch or special outfit for a first birthday party, their super soft cotton shirt features hand-stitched embroidery on the collar, while the cozy overalls are made of light and breezy linen and have the type of room you need for a diaper/ growing baby!
The second item I can’t wait to get my hands on is Red Caribou’s Short Sleeve Jumpsuit. Silk-screened with non-toxic water-based inks, this adorable jumpsuit is perfect for easy dressing and diapering.
At number 3 is Oeuf’s Shark Hoodie. Not only is it the ideal weight for a spring night, it has shark-teeth detailing on the hood, which is subtle, yet a total statement. As a brand we’ve carried for a long time, we’re thrilled to see that they still insist on an eco-friendly manufacturing process and ethically source their cotton from Peru.
Coming in at Number 4: Natural Earth Paint Wooden Eggs Craft Kit. I know you’re thinking that this list is going to be full of clothing, but believe it or not – I am quite the crafter. I especially love Easter because it means I get to decorate eggs with my boys and then go on an epic and memorable Easter egg hunt. Obviously – using real eggs is too wasteful, which is why I was thrilled when we discovered Natural Earth Paint’s reusable, non-toxic and sustainable wooden Easter egg paint set.
One of the most talked about releases of 2018 is #5 on my list: Bugaboo’s Bee5 Stroller. As a brand I have loved and trusted for years, they’ve outdone themselves with their new and improved Bee5. The major difference is an improved stability and swivel maneuverability, as well as attachment points built into the chassis, which means you won’t need adapters to add on Bugaboo accessories. Since I have a toddler with the speed of Usain Bolt, I swear by the Bee5 to help his little brother and me keep up with him wherever he may go.
Number 6 is a nod to the animal trend that just keeps on giving. The Little Goodall Linen Bunny Coat is made of lightweight linen and can 100% be the finishing touch to any Easter outfit. With long bunny ears attached to the hood, it’s fun for kids to play with, gender-neutral, comfortable, insanely cute, but also entirely functional. Even as the days get warmer it can be used as a swimsuit cover up or simply sun protection while out and about.
While we’re on the animal trend, I couldn’t not mention this adorable new toddler bathrobe by MORI. I can never go passed a panda bear design!
If you’re like me (slightly obsessed with nursery décor,) then you’re probably already in the midst of spring cleaning and getting your tot’s room ready for a new season. Even though we have a playroom, I find my boys really like to move throughout the house, which is why I’m into the Maison Deux Rainbow Pouf. 1. I love that it doesn’t scream, ‘BABY.’ 2. It’s lightweight and easy for kids to move themselves. 3. It can be used for imaginative play. 4. It is covered in velvet, which can be a calming tactile experience for kids to touch while reading a book or watching a movie. The list could go on!
And it does! Finally, I love this Dottie Bookcase by Babyletto. It’s sized for books, buddies and baskets of toys and will help keep your babe’s room neat and organized. Not only is is stylish but it’s also clean and non-toxic as it’s made with the safest, most renewable materials available including sustainable New Zealand Pine, lead and phthalate free finishes and CARB II compliant MDF.
Seriously – there are numerous items that I could fill my Wish List with this season, but if I had to be really picky, these are the items I know will make spring comfortable, cute, fun and most of all – memorable.
