Nasiba’s 9 Must Have Products For A Six-Month-Old

From feeding to teething, The Tot Founder and mama of two, Nasiba Adilova, shares her must-have items for life with a six-month-old.

With the ability to now sit up, grasp toys and prop themselves on their hands, a six-month-old baby’s sense of wonder can really soar. Whether they’re tasting food for the first time, slobbering on a toy, or babbling their way through a conversation, this is when babies want to be part of the action.

As the mom of two kids, I feel like the best products for this age are the ones that help your tot be included in your daily life and absorb the world around them. Because most babies explore their worlds with their mouths, I am very conscious to make sure the toys and gear I have are non-toxic. I also swear by products that help you stay prepared while on the go because the demands of a six-month-old can be full on. At this age, hunger and teething pains are the most common culprits when it comes to a fussy baby, so it’s best to have items that can do double duty.

My Favorite Products for a 6-month old:

1. Stokke Tripp Trapp Highchair

Stokke Tripp Trapp in White with Aqua Star Cushion

The world famous Stokke Tripp Trapp is also wonderful because it’s ergonomically designed to work with your dining table. Having your baby at your dinner table promotes healthy eating habits and is great for expanding your tot’s vocabulary.

2. Modern Twist Bucket Bib

ModernTwistBibOrange

As someone who loves the clothes I put on my children, I swear by this bib! Made from food grade silicone, the Modern Twist Bucket Bib is easy to wear, dishwasher safe and catches all the food your baby thinks he or she is eating.

3. Avanchy Stay Put Suction Bowl and Spoon Set

AvanchyBowlGreen

During my first pregnancy I was shocked to learn how many nasties can be found in infant bowls, bottles and plates. Avanchy makes their sets from sustainable bamboo and food-grade silicone. They’re also ergonomically designed for babies, which will help your tot gain feeding independence.

4. Re-Play Snack Stacks

ReplaySnackStackBlue

Re-Play Snack Stacks are a hands down the #1 must have when on the go. (Or at home for storage!) Made from recycled milk jugs, they can hold snacks, craft supplies or tiny toys and can literally save the day.

5. Itzy Ritzy Silicone Teether

ItzyRitzyTeetherPineapple

Sore gums can be terrible at this age, which is why I always have a teether on hand. Just like your tot’s dinnerware, it’s crucial to make sure your teether isn’t hiding any nasties like BPA or lead. Itzy Ritzy makes teethers out of food grade silicone that are gender neutral, easy to hold and so cute!

6. Lovevery Play Gym

LoveveryPlayGym1

Play gyms can actually be used from birth. When your baby is lying on their back, they can start sharpening their eyesight by looking at the dangling toys. As they get stronger they can reach and kick and try to bat the toys. At six months, your tot may be able to sit up and really start playing.

7. Tiny Bee Gift Co. Baby’s Box of Fun Board Book Set

 TinyBeeBabysBookOfFun

Board books are an essential because six-month-olds love exploring their worlds with their mouths and hands. Tiny Bee Gift Co.’s Baby’s Box of Fun Board Book Set is sturdy and the perfect book set to fuel your baby’s love of literature.

8. BabyNoise Egg Shakers

BabyNoise Wooden Egg Shakers in Natural & Grey

Made from safe hardwood and handpainted with non-toxic paints, these BabyNoise Egg Shakers have been designed to be the perfect size for your little ones hands and allow them to shake and make music wherever they go. Bonus: These can be a beautiful touch to your nursery décor.

9. Hevea Pond Gift Set

HeveaPondGiftSet1

Bath time fun may be the best kind of fun when you’re a baby, which is why I was so happy to find Hevea bath toys. Made of 100% natural rubber (from the Hevea tree,) they are completely non-toxic and don’t have any holes to allow yucky mold to grow.
